FAQ about Rooms
Q1. Can I use the same Step in multiple Rooms?
Yes. Steps are designed to be reusable. For instance, a “Fundamentals of CSS” Step could appear in both an “Introduction to Web Development” Room and a “Styling Masterclass” Room. Just note that if you edit a Step, those changes apply everywhere it’s used.
Q2. How do I make a Room premium?
When creating or editing a Room, toggle the Premium switch. This requires learners to have an active subscription to access the Room. Be sure to communicate this in the Room’s description so learners know it’s paid content.
Q3. What if I want to change the difficulty from Easy to Hard later?
Simply edit the Room and select the new difficulty. This update is immediate and will be reflected for any learner who views the Room. If you need to maintain a separate “Easy” and “Hard” version, consider duplicating the Room or rearranging your Steps in different Rooms.
Q4. Do I need to publish a Room before adding it to a Path?
Yes. A Room must be set to published in order to appear in a Path and be accessible to users. If a Room is unpublished, it won’t show up in any public-facing content, even if the Path itself is published.
Q5. Can learners view a Room directly without a Path?
If you share the direct URL of the Room (and it’s published), learners can open it directly. However, most creators prefer to bundle Rooms into a Path so that progress tracking and certificate completion are managed at a course level.
Q6. How is progress tracked in a Room?
Each Room is associated with a user_projects entry for each learner. As they answer questions (or complete Steps), their progress is updated. Once progress reaches 100%, it’s marked 100%” However, a Path’s overall completion only counts if all Rooms within it are also completed.
Q7. Can I rename a Room or change its icon after publishing?
Yes. You can edit any metadata (title, description, icon, etc.) even after publishing. Learners will see the changes immediately. If you’re making major content changes, consider alerting your audience or versioning if necessary.
Q8. Do I have to set every Step in the Room to “published” separately?
No. Steps do not have an individual published
toggle; they become accessible if the Room is published. If you need to remove a Step from public view, remove it from the published Room or unpublish the Room itself.
Q9. What if I need multiple levels of difficulty for the same topic?
You can create multiple Rooms, each focusing on a different difficulty. For example, “JavaScript Basics (Easy),” “JavaScript Projects (Medium),” and “Advanced JavaScript Topics (Hard).” You can then place them in one or more Paths as needed.
